Plain and honest: here is exactly what we do with an uploaded photo and with your email. No dark patterns, no buried clauses.

Lifesizy operates from the Netherlands (EU), so we follow the GDPR (AVG) for everyone, wherever you are.

Photos you upload

Whenever a photo reaches us we use it for one thing only: to build the cutline preview and, if it becomes a real order, the production PDF. We never use uploaded photos for training, marketing, or analysis, and we never sell or share them.

What happens to the photo afterwards depends on how it reached us, so here are all three routes.

The demo on this website. The photo is processed in memory and in a temporary folder, and it is deleted the moment your preview is ready. We do not keep it, store it, or log it. There is no archive of demo photos.

Through a print shop’s own website. When a shop has placed our configurator on its own product page (with our WooCommerce plugin, for example), the customer’s photo is stored on that shop’s server, not on ours. It comes to us twice: once to trace the cutline, and again when the shop generates the production PDF for the order. Both times we process it and discard it; we keep no copy. How long the shop itself keeps the photo is the shop’s decision, covered by the shop’s own privacy policy.

A shop’s Lifesizy portal. Some shops let their customers upload through a Lifesizy page instead of their own site. There the photo has to wait for the shop to collect it, so this is the one case where we do store it, together with the chosen size, the approved cutline and the order reference the customer typed. It is deleted automatically after 30 days, and the shop can delete it sooner. We hold it on the shop’s behalf: it is the shop’s customer and the shop’s order, so the shop decides what happens with it.

Every photo we touch has its embedded metadata stripped: the GPS location and camera details that phones quietly attach. That applies to the preview, to production files, and to the copy we store for a portal order: what we keep and what the shop receives is the picture itself, nothing more.

Your email

If you book a demo, we store your email address so we can contact you about Lifesizy. That is the only reason we ask for it. We also record which part of the site you signed up from and the date, and nothing more.

We keep your email only as long as we need it to follow up on your demo request. You can ask us to delete it at any time. See “Your rights” below. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

Who helps us run this

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and handle demo requests:

• Our EU hosting provider runs the website and the cutline engine on servers in the European Union. Handles page requests, processes uploaded photos to build the preview (then discards them), and passes along your demo-request email.
• Supabase stores portal orders and the photos that belong to them, for the 30 days described above. Nothing from the demo goes here.
• Resend, if enabled, emails us a notification when someone books a demo.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where that is the case, the transfer is covered by standard EU safeguards (the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses).

Cookies and tracking

We do not set tracking cookies and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising pixels. That is why you did not see a cookie banner. We did not need to ask.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. For your email, just email us and we will take care of it.

For photos it depends on the route. A demo photo needs no request. We no longer have it. A photo you uploaded for an order goes through the shop you ordered from: it is their order and their decision, and we act on their instruction. Ask the shop, and if you get stuck, email us and we will help you reach the right place.
